Born in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, Gopal Das Ji showed signs of spiritual depth from a young age. Drawn to religious books and temple visits, he developed a deep interest in spirituality early in life. One day, he came across the book Amarnath Ki Amar Kahani, which left a profound impact on his heart. Deeply moved by its message, he felt an inner calling to go on a pilgrimage. At just 8 years old, he fearlessly boarded a train to Haridwar alone, marking the beginning of his lifelong journey into devotion, pilgrimage, and the pursuit of dharma.
Upon his arrival in Haridwar, he lived on the banks of the sacred Ganga, sustained by the kindness of pilgrims, which allowed him to immerse himself in yagyas and kathas. He would spend hours praying and contemplating, often sleeping under the open sky with only devotion as his shelter. Over time, his quest led him to sacred sites like Rameshwaram, Badrinath, Amarnath, Jagannath Puri, and Dwarka. These pilgrimages deepened his spiritual understanding and strengthened his unwavering faith in the divine plan.
The story of Sudama crossing the ocean to meet Lord Krishna touched Gopal Das Ji deeply, awakening a longing in his heart that pulled him once again toward Dwarka. It was there, in a moment guided by divine timing, that he met his mantra guru. The temple had unexpectedly closed, but as if led by fate, their paths crossed, a meeting that would mark the beginning of his formal initiation into spiritual life.
Years later, his journey brought him to Ram Santosh Das Ji Maharaj, his Siddh Guru. Under his guidance, Gopal Das Ji immersed himself in the intense discipline of dhuni tap (sacred fire penance), dedicating twelve years to mastering this powerful sadhana.
Gopal Das Ji spent over 30 years in Ayodhya, where deep sadhana shaped the strength and compassion behind his ongoing mission. Today, Maharaj Ji continues to inspire through events held across India and abroad, gatherings that promote Sanatan Dharma, deepen devotion, and unite people in service.
His divine efforts today also include guiding the construction of the Shri Ram Mandir in Bet Dwarka. This sacred initiative reflects his unwavering commitment to Lord Ram’s legacy. With each step, Gopal Das Ji walks the path of dharma, gently lighting the way for others.
